1Body Church is part of a revolutionary movement that is mobilizing and equipping everyday people to hear God’s call, form missional communities, and reach others until the whole world knows Jesus. Disciple-making movements are creating unprecedented impact for the kingdom worldwide. 1Body Church exists to launch disciple-multiplying movements that transform communities until the whole world knows. We want to see people obey the Great Commandment and the Great Commission: “Obey GC² “. If the task our Lord left us is ever going to be accomplished, it will require His followers to be actively engaged in His mission to become multiplying disciple makers.
Since 2013, the 1Body team began to intentionally prayer-walk in some of the worst places in Tampa and discovered persons of peace among the least, the lost and the last. We learned and obeyed. We began to train others locally and eventually globally. Healthy groups began multiplying. The movement expanded to other Florida cities, crossed state lines and with the help of some of our earliest disciples expanded to other countries. We began to send out missionaries to unreached, unengaged people groups within two years, from a completely organic decentralized movement.
Two years ago we began to co-labor with Biglife and model collaboration across boundaries that often hinder multiplication. Biglife has sent us to China, Thailand, Africa, Australia, Dominican Republic , Haiti, Europe and many other states in the US, where self-multiplying movements of people reaching their own for Christ are beginning or are well under way. Additionally others began coming to our city for immersion training in an emerging urban church model, engaging in CPM that transforms communities.
All of this comes from sharing our personal stories of how Jesus has changed our lives, telling Jesus’ story and following a few simple principles: pouring deeply into the few, keeping it simple, learning by doing, and trusting God for the outcome. How? Love God, love others and make disciples that make disciples. Simple things grow and simple things multiply.
