Together, They Surrendered

Years ago, a team of American Biglife leaders made their way into a remote Muslim village—one so hidden that few Westerners had ever entered before.

Upon arrival, the villagers led them directly to their Imam, an 83-year-old man revered for decades of religious leadership. As custom dictated, they met in the mosque.

The conversation was gentle, respectful, but direct.

The leaders began to walk the Imam through the “Camel method,” a form of evangelism that draws upon the Quran itself to reveal how it points to Jesus Christ as the true Messiah.

“The Quran says the Torah and the Gospels are divinely inspired scriptures,” they told him. “Have you ever read them?”

The Imam grew quiet. His eyes lowered.

“I’ve never read the Quran either,” he admitted. He never had one in his language.

The leaders opened the Quran with him and showed him the verses—passages that pointed to Jesus, not just as a prophet, but as the One to come.

Then they handed him something he had never held before: a Bible, translated in his native tongue.

He took it and read it. The truth awakened in him. He gave his life to Jesus.

He returned to his village and began to tell them of the Messiah. The people believed—not just his words, but the transformation in him. His heart burned with truth.

In time, the villagers gathered by the river, each holding their Quran. One by one, they dropped them into the water—not in anger, but in surrender.

Today, they belong to Jesus.
